Permaculture promotes practical 'action research' where observation, refinement and recognising complex cyclic feed-backs are critical steps in the discovery of workable solutions to create 'PERMAnent CULTURES''.
Some of the areas we have actively researched and applied in our work in our dryland climate and cultural context include:
- application of permaculture design in dryland climates
-
dryland gardening and fertilisation strategies
- germination of hard to grow native plants
- bee fodder crops
- dryland crops eg. Apple Cactus, Marula, Argan etc.
- mine site and coastal rehabilitation
- locally appropriate building
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
- heirloom vegetable & herb varieties with seed saving
In the future we hope to expand our research with the development of our education centre and work of enrolled students.
