Heirloom seeds are improved varieties of vegetables and herbs that have been saved and passed down through many generations of farmers and gardeners. Their flavour, reliability and tolerance of pests and diseases have been highly prized qualities for home gardens and specialist growers.
Since 1989 we have been dedicated to continue this invaluable tradition. We have sourced and acclimatised varieties to suit our semi-arid climate and our own preference for tasty and nutritious home grown food. We operate as a 'not-for-profit' business where we re-invest our profits to provide training in seed saving and organic gardening.
The seed varieties we offer for sale are all grown in our own chemical-free food gardens and rarely found on supermarket shelves. They are all 'open-pollinated' and can be saved for planting in the following season. Many of our varieties are also suitable for growing in different climates, although the time of the year you plant them may be different.
We hope that you enjoy growing these varieties, and discover like we did the wonderful diversity of plants and traditions which sustain us.
